“Superman” Digital Release Date Announced
According to cinemadrame news agency, Warner Bros. will release James Gunn‘s “Superman” on digital platforms on August 26 (August 26, 2025 in the Persian calendar), 45 days after its theatrical release.
“Superman” is expected to earn $60 million in its second week, marking a nearly 50% drop from its opening. The film grossed $11 million last Thursday.
Studios are increasingly opting for earlier digital releases of films compared to pre-pandemic years. This strategy targets audiences who prefer not to watch movies in theaters. Approximately 50% of a film’s box office revenue goes to theater owners.
In this 122-minute superhero film, David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan star as Superman and Lois Lane, respectively. Nicholas Hoult plays the supervillain Lex Luthor, “Barry” series star Anthony Carrigan appears as DC archaeologist Metamorpho, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mr. Terrific, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Wendell Pierce as Daily Planet writer Perry White, and Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern.
